Mental Wellbeing

Symbiotics Ltd

The mental health charity Mind suggest that globally 1 in 4 adults will experience at least one mental health condition in any given year. This adds up to around 450 million people globally: nearly seven times the population of the UK.

With increasing focus on mental wellbeing in the workplace driven by statistics such as those within the Stephenson and Farmer review which identified that 57% of all working days lost are due to mental ill-health, what can be done to help support staff and businesses?

MindQ™ making a difference to staff and businesses

What's good for your staff is good for your business

We can help you by identifying who is at risk of potential mental health conditions, so that they can be directed to the appropriate resources and support to improve their mental wellbeing, reducing absenteeism and presenteeism. Symbiotics are delighted to be working with MHS Assessments in our use of MindQ, the clinically validated mental health risk assessment.

How does MindQ aid mental wellbeing?

Mind Q is a clinically validated mental health risk assessment tool, identifying individuals who may be at risk of, or who are suffering from, a mental health condition. Individuals can then be directed to the appropriate support to help aid their recovery and therefore keep your team as well as possible.

Symbiotics' MindQ product assesses eight areas including life dissatisfaction, emotional distress, stress coping and substance abuse, providing an easy to digest red/amber/green report. We recommend that this test is taken at regular intervals so that any changes to an individual's mental wellbeing can be identified and support provided before something becomes a serious risk.

Due to the sensitive nature of this assessment, it is only provided with accompanying feedback. The feedback can be provided by Symbiotics, your Occupational Health Department or other appropriately certified employees within your business.

The benefits of MindQ

People suffering from mental ill-health do not often realise it themselves as it was a gradual onset and their new normal changes incrementally. Having the ability to enable staff to measure their own level of wellbeing, funded through the organisation but with independent results, helps to encourage earlier identification of where they may be at risk of developing a mental health condition.

Understanding return on investment is important to justify additional expense, so using the Stephenson and Farmer review figures, Deloitte statistics and the average UK salary we have modelled the potential impact of using MindQ for your business below.
